How To Improve Your Chances of Getting More Interviews


If you have been made redundant or if you are unhappy in your role and have explored all possibilities with your line manager, a few simple things can improve your chances of achieving more interviews.

1. Update your CV:
Name
Town or City & County
Phone & Email
LinkedIn URL (see below)
Professional Summary
Key Skills & Achievements
Work History
Education
Professional qualifications
Include interests if out of the ordinary i.e. voluntary work

2. Update your LinkedIn profile:
Include a professional photo
Include your current role in headline or the types of roles you are looking for.
Update summary with achievements and key skills
Ensure the dates match those on your CV (attach CV also)
Let recruiters / companies know you are open to new opportunities by using #opentowork or privately via the settings.

3. Upload CV onto Job boards:
Reed, Monster, Totaljobs, CV-Library, Indeed etc and log on at least weekly to show you are active.

4. Contact trusted recruitment companies in the fields you are looking for.

5. Engage with your network, visit company websites for vacancies and follow your ideal companies on LinkedIn etc.
