About the Role
Marketing Manager
Leicester
Circa £35,000 + Annual Bonus + Benefits
Want a marketing role where you can actually own the function rather than look after one small part of it?
This is an opportunity to become the main point of contact for marketing within a growing specialist distribution business, taking responsibility for everything from digital campaigns and content through to product marketing, exhibitions and brand development.
You'll have plenty of variety, genuine ownership and the opportunity to influence how the business and its products are presented to customers across the UK and Europe.
You'll also manage an in-house Graphic Designer, giving you the creative support to turn ideas into campaigns.
Why Apply?
- Circa £35,000 basic salary
- Broad Marketing Manager position with genuine ownership
- Manage and develop an in-house Graphic Designer
- Create campaigns across digital, social, email, PR and print
- Get involved in product development and launches
- Organise and attend European exhibitions
- Opportunity to shape the company's marketing direction rather than simply execute somebody else's plan
The Opportunity
If you enjoy variety, you'll get plenty of it here.
You'll become the central point for marketing within the business, taking ideas from initial concept through to delivery and measuring whether they've actually worked.
One day you could be developing a new product campaign, the next working with your Graphic Designer on packaging or advertising, preparing performance information for Sales, writing content or planning the company's presence at a European trade exhibition.
You'll have the freedom to bring ideas to the table and the responsibility to make them happen.
What You'll Be Doing
- Take ownership of marketing activity from creation through to execution
- Develop multi-channel campaigns across email, PR, print, social media and the website
- Create marketing plans that build awareness and support commercial growth
- Manage product marketing throughout the product lifecycle
- Prepare product performance information for the sales team
- Measure campaign performance and present results to senior management
- Prepare and monitor the marketing budget
- Develop advertising plans for relevant target audiences
- Manage and provide direction to an in-house Graphic Designer
- Influence visual identity across advertising, graphics, packaging and other marketing materials
- Support the creation of video content
- Monitor competitor activity and market developments
- Represent Marketing in management and product meetings
- Organise the company's presence at exhibitions across Europe
- Manage relationships with third-party exhibition and stand suppliers
- Develop the company's presence on LinkedIn and other relevant social channels
Content Will Be Important
You'll need to be comfortable creating content yourself rather than relying entirely on agencies.
That could include persuasive copy for:
- Advertising
- Email campaigns
- Brochures and flyers
- Press releases
- Product descriptions
- Social media
- Website content
You'll also create more educational content, including articles, how-to guides and video concepts.
You'll build relationships with relevant editors and publications too, helping increase the reach of company news and product launches.
What We're Looking For
You'll already have enough marketing experience to come in and take ownership of the function.
You could currently be a Marketing Manager or an experienced Senior Marketing Executive looking for the opportunity to step up and take greater responsibility.
Ideally, you'll bring:
- Around three years' experience within a marketing management or senior marketing position
- A good understanding of B2B marketing
- Experience creating and delivering multi-channel campaigns
- Strong content and copywriting skills
- Digital marketing experience, particularly email and social media
- Experience managing external agencies or suppliers
- An understanding of branding and visual identity
- Strong project management and organisational skills
- The confidence to manage several projects simultaneously
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- A creative eye combined with strong attention to detail
A marketing degree or equivalent qualification would be advantageous, as would previous experience organising trade exhibitions.
Why Consider It?
The attraction here is the breadth and ownership.
You won't be joining a large marketing department where you're responsible for one channel or one small part of the customer journey.
You'll be involved in the whole picture.
From products and campaigns to content, exhibitions, branding and digital marketing, you'll have the opportunity to influence how the business goes to market.
If you're looking for a Marketing Manager position where you can bring ideas, make decisions and see the results of your work, we'd like to hear from you.
