Quality & Process Engineer
Automotive Aftermarket Manufacturer
Smethwick
Do you have a sharp eye for quality, a head for process, and the drive to make things better?
We’re recruiting for an experienced Quality & Process Engineer to play a key role in improving processes, driving quality, and delivering practical engineering solutions that make a real commercial impact.
This isn’t a “tick-the-box” quality role — you’ll be actively involved across Production, Quality, Engineering, Environmental, Health & Safety, and Training, helping to set standards and make sure they’re met.
The Role
You’ll work closely with teams across the business to:
Develop, implement, and maintain the Quality & Environmental Management System (QEMS) and Business Management System (BMS) in line with industry standards.
Design and develop new products, improvements, tooling, fixtures, and associated equipment.
Carry out supplier, product, and service audits to ensure everything meets required specifications.
Create and maintain Standard Operating Procedures, Work Instructions, and technical documentation such as FMEAs, Control Plans, and PFDs.
Champion continual improvement in processes, quality, and production capabilities.
Deliver both formal and on-the-job training to embed quality awareness across the business.
What’s in it for you?
Competitive salary
25 days’ holiday plus bank holidays
Life cover at 3x your base salary
5% employer pension contribution after 12 months
Ongoing training and genuine career development
Wellbeing support and paid leave for reservists
What You’ll Need
Degree (or equivalent) in Automotive Engineering or related field
Strong organisational, communication, and problem-solving skills
Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project)
Knowledge of ISO, IATF, and APQP standards plus quality/project management techniques
Audit qualification (or willingness to achieve one)
If you’re ready to take ownership, influence standards, and deliver results in a business where quality is more than a buzzword, we’d like to hear from you. Don't worry about if your CV is up to date, we can sort that out later.
Apply now, and Stewart Lupton at JSL Solutions – Automotive Aftermarket Recruitment – will be in touch. Alternatively, call Stewart on 07763004067 for further information.
