Garage Equipment Field Engineer

£38,000 – £42,000 + Bonus + Company Vehicle + Enhanced Pension + 25 Days Holiday + Bank Holidays
Field-Based | Covering the UK & Northern Ireland

Purpose of the Role

To support the continued growth of the company’s Garage Services and Workshop Equipment division across the UK and Northern Ireland.

This is a hands-on technical position combining product expertise, customer engagement, technical support, installation, and after-sales care. You’ll represent a high-quality, globally recognised range of workshop equipment, ensuring distributors and end-users receive outstanding service and technical support.

Why Apply

This isn’t a routine service or maintenance role — it’s a position where you can combine technical expertise with customer interaction every day.

  • Variety & autonomy – manage your own schedule, travel across the UK, and enjoy a mix of installation, support, and customer training.
  • Visible impact – see the results of your work first-hand as you help workshops and garages get the most from their equipment.
  • Premium product range – represent one of the industry’s most trusted and respected brands, known for quality and reliability.
  • Technical challenge & satisfaction – work hands-on with innovative garage and diagnostic systems.
  • Collaboration & support – you’ll be part of a close-knit UK team with strong technical backup and a reputation for excellence.

If you enjoy solving problems, working with your hands, and building relationships with customers who value professionalism and expertise — this is a role where your skills will genuinely make a difference.

Key Responsibilities

Technical Sales Support

  • Support the sales team in supplying and promoting the company’s workshop equipment range — including A/C and refrigerant service systems, fluid handling equipment, and related tools.
  • Work with distributors to ensure they can effectively specify, quote, deliver, and support equipment.
  • Conduct product demonstrations and provide technical advice to customers and distributors.

Customer Engagement & Relationship Management

  • Build strong relationships with garages, workshops, and key decision-makers.
  • Provide technical demonstrations and installation guidance.
  • Follow up with customers post-installation to ensure satisfaction and offer additional accessories or training.

Installation & Commissioning

  • Manage and complete installation and commissioning of new equipment.
  • Ensure all work is completed to the required technical and safety standards.
  • Manage your diary effectively to balance demonstrations, installations, and customer visits.

After-Sales & Customer Success

  • Provide post-sale support and training to ensure customers can operate equipment safely and effectively.
  • Monitor equipment performance and assist with troubleshooting or warranty queries.
  • Liaise with the technical support and service teams for complex issues.

Market Intelligence & Continuous Improvement

  • Track competitor activity, pricing, and product developments (e.g. ADAS, refrigerant recovery systems, fluid handling).
  • Feed insights back to sales and product development teams.
  • Support trade shows and training events as required.

Administration & Reporting

  • Record customer visits, quotations, and installations using CRM tools.
  • Produce accurate forecasts, progress reports, and travel schedules.

Skills & Experience Required

  • Experience in technical or B2B sales within workshop equipment, automotive tools, diagnostics, A/C servicing, or related sectors.
  • Strong technical understanding of installation, commissioning, and maintenance of workshop equipment.
  • Knowledge of the UK garage sector (independent garages, dealer service centres, fast fit, etc.) and related compliance standards.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills with both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Organised, self-motivated, and comfortable managing multiple projects.
  • Willingness to travel extensively across the UK and Northern Ireland.
  • Full UK driving licence (able to drive a Transit-type vehicle).

Desirable

  • Level 3 Master Technician or equivalent qualification.
  • Hands-on experience in vehicle repair, diagnostics, or equipment installation.
  • Experience with refrigerant service machines, ADAS calibration, or fluid handling systems.
  • Understanding of health, safety, and environmental regulations relevant to workshop operations.

The Package
